Continuing bringing laurels to the country and the region; two of the distance education students of Lovely Professional University (LPU) have bagged multiple medals in various national and international level sports events held recently.
An Arjuna awardee and Olympian shooter, MBA student Gurpreet Singh has won three medals in the 65th National Shooting Championship for Pistol competition held in Bhopal. He bagged individual gold medal in 25M standard pistol; team silver medal in 25M rapid fire pistol; and, and, an individual bronze medal in 25M centre fire pistol event.
Similarly, an arts student Sukhmeet Singh won the silver medal in the Men's Double Scull (M2X) event at the Asian rowing championship in Thailand. Prior to this, he has also bagged a gold medal at a quadruple scull event, during the 36th national games held at Ahmedabad.
Illustrative, both of these students have availed 100% sports scholarships while pursuing their MBA and BA programmes at LPU through distance education study mode. This mode provides a flexible and accessible higher education option to all aspirants who want to upgrade their qualifications along with their existing passions and life roles.
