Cabinet Minister of Public Works Department and Power Department of Punjab Mr Harbhajan Singh conducted a surprise check at the local Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School here today. MLA Moga Dr Amandeep Kaur Arora, Deputy Commissioner Mr Kulwant Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Gulneet Singh Khurana and others were present with him.
In an informal conversation with journalists, Harbhajan Singh said that the top priority of the Punjab government is to improve the education sector. Principals of Government schools are being sent to foreign countries for training.
If the head of the school is good, the results of the school will also be good. That is why the posts of principals in government schools are being filled soon.He said that education is being made employment oriented. Students are being encouraged towards technical education.
That is why more than 100 Schools of Eminence are being opened soon in the state. In these schools, after finding the interest of the brilliant students, they will be given appropriate education so that they can choose their field/occupation according to their interests.
He said that the purpose of his visit is to know the needs of the school and make efforts to address them. On this occasion, he expressed satisfaction with the performance of the school.
