The District Administration Budgam today held Block Diwas at Panchayat Halqa Bundgam in Block SK Pora of Budgam. The programme was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak at High School Bundgam.

On the occasion, PRIs and others respected from village Bundgam, Panchas, Mulshula, Nadigam and other adjacent villages apprised the ADDC about their needs. 

After giving patient hearing to the public, the ADDC assured that all genuine demands shall be looked into on priority. The ADDC said that work on upgradation of Watalpora- Wahabpora including allied links scheme and interior roads shall be started soon to ensure better connectivity to the people.

He said work on a WSS is under progress and entire habitation shall be provided with adequate potable water supply in the shortest possible time. ADDC instructed BMO concerned to ensure that timely immunization and better health care facilities are made available to the general public.

BDO SK Pora was instructed to take up works of lanes and drains on priority in Bundgam and other adjoining villages. Ex. Engineer KPDCL Budgam said that improvement works for HT and LT lines shall be carried out on priority and issues related to electricity bills shall also be addressed on priority.

He emphasised that desilting of irrigation canals and removal of encroachments be carried out on war footing to ensure irrigation supply to farmers. He instructed CEO Budgam to check the feasibility for upgradation of High School Bundgam to Higher Secondary level.

He said that a patch of land be identified for the construction of sports ground in the area. The ADC stressed on the speedy completion of ongoing developmental works in all panchayat halqas and instructed the concerned to resolve all issues on priority basis, halting the work execution.

He emphasized that works related to road development and improvement in education and health sectors be executed in a time bound manner for public convenience. SDM Beerwah, Taufeeq A Gazi who also spoke on the occasion said appropriate steps shall be taken to ensure better connectivity and water supply to all residents.

Meanwhile, various district officers spoke threadbare about their public welfare schemes on the occasion. SDM Beerwah, Tehsildar, BDO, AD Planning, Executive Engineer PDD, BMO, Irrigation, and other concerned officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
