District Administration Kishtwar intensifies awareness under rolled out "Back to School" initiative of Project Talaash

District Administration Kishtwar in collaboration with Education Department and Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj today conducted Special gram Sabhas for mass level awareness campaign launched under the project Talaash- Back to School across the district at designated places/villages where the number of Out Of School Children (OOSC) is very high.

Officers of District Administration participated in these Gram Sabhas wherein they sensitised the masses/parents about the rollout scheme of bringing the OOSC including  school dropouts and never enrolled children of the age of 6-14 years.

Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav presided over such a sabha here at HS Cherji, block Nagseni wherein ACD Atul Dutt Sharma, DDC member Faisal Kichloo, PRIs, Parents, locals,  teachers, identified OOSC.

During the gram sabha, DC Kishtwar  informed that under project Talaash OOSCs have been identified through a survey conducted by different stakeholders and in some villages including Cherji village the figures are very high which require all out efforts from all corners to bring these out of school children  back to school and improving the literacy rate. 

He assured that the administration is taking all possible steps like winter classes and bridge courses under Samagra etc which can be instrumental in bringing the OOSC figures down.

Terming education as the backbone of the developmental process, DC Kishtwar urged the PRIs and common masses to cooperate with the Education Department to ensure that the OOSC including School dropouts and never enrolled children of the age of 6-14 years are re-enrolled.

On the occasion the parents were administered a pledge to send their wards back to school. Meanwhile, the DC also listened to the grievances of people and PRIs who apprised him about the grievances related to the streamlining of the public services and requirement of  infrastructure in education, health, road, power and water supply.

Similarly, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar Sham Lal presided over special gram sabha at MS Gorna, Panchayat Bhagna, Zone Nagseni and gave awareness  about the project Talaash and Back to School initiative besides  encouraged people to re-enroll age appropriate school dropouts and never enrolled children in winter camps. 

He also administered a pledge to send their wards back to school. He was accompanied by CEO Kishtwar Sudarshan Kumar Sharma and concerned officials. 

Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma also urged parents to re-enroll their out of school children under Back to School initiative here in special gram Sabha organised at MS Chamoti Drabshalla besides he also listened to the grievances of people and resolved many on spot in coordination with concerned field functionaries.

Similarly, gram sabha was conducted at HS Piyas under the supervision of Tehsildar Nagseni  Majid Jehangir wherein OOSCs and their parents were encouraged and sensitised about the Back to School Campaign.
