Following the assurance of Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister Sh. Anil Vij, the panchayat of Chautala village of Sirsa district called off the protest in front of Karnal Mini Secretariat today.People sitting on dharna along with Panchayat of Chautala village met Health Minister Anil Vij today.
Farmer leaders Rakesh Fagodia, Poonam Godara and others, who were part of the delegation, told that they have called off the strike after talking to Health Minister Anil Vij. They told that Minister Vij has assured them that fair action and given orders to appoint doctors in CHC. Apart from this, other demands have also been considered, due to which he is satisfied.
It is noteworthy that in the past, the villagers were demanding a fair investigation in the death of mother and child, and on this matter first in Sirsa and then later in Karnal, the panchayats of many villages staged a dharna. After the matter came to the notice of Health Minister Anil Vij, he also constituted a committee to investigate the matter.

While interacting to reporters, Health Minister Anil Vij said that he has immediately issued orders to appoint a gynecologist and a paediatrician, on a permanent basis. Recruitment advertisement will also be given in this regard. He told that in the case of deaths, the CMO has been asked to audit it and if any mistake is made, strict action will be taken against the guilty. The demands of the panchayat have been accepted and asked to end the dharna.
