Quarterly meeting of District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar for quarter ending 31.12.2022 was held today under the Chairmanship of Sh. Harpal Singh, District & Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar. It was attended by Sh. Avtar Singh, Additional District & Sessions Judge-I, Sh. Inderpal Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G), SAS Nagar, Sh. Amandeep Singh, Superintendent of Police (D), SAS Nagar, Sh. Baljinder Singh, Secretary, DLSA, SAS Nagar, Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate, SAS Nagar, Sh. Satnam Singh, District Attorney, SAS Nagar, Ms. Dalbir Kaur, APRO, SAS Nagar, Sh. Parminder Singh Toor, President, Bar Association, SAS Nagar and Sh. S.K. Sinha, Member, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar. In the meeting, the work done by DLSA, SAS Nagar during previous quarter was assessed. Sh. Harpal Singh, District & Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar informed that legal services were provided to 181 legal aid seekers during the last quarter. To settle the cases through mediation 364 cases were referred to the Mediation Centre. Besides this, sensitization programmes in the last quarter were organized for investigating officers for compliance of directions of Supreme Court of India regarding legal aid to the persons at pre arrest, arrest and remand stage. Sensitization programme was also organized for Special Juvenile Police Officer for adhering to the rules of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015. It was also revealed during the Meeting that upcoming National Lok Adalat shall be held on 11.02.2023 in which all civil cases and criminal compoundable cases shall be taken up. To provide opportunity to the litigants to have interaction with each other, pre-Lok Adalats are being organized daily. Appeal was made for maximum participation of all the stake holders in the upcoming National Lok Adalat.
