NSS units of Govt College for Women(GCW) Udhampur organised a seminar on "National Consumers Day" here today under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav" whereby guest speakers were invited from the Department of Legal Metrology and CAPD.

Ajay Verma, District Officer, Legal Metrology, along with his team delivered a lecture on the practical aspect of the consumers rights, which is significant for our day to day shopping behaviour.

 Assistant Director CAPD also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the Constitutional aspect of the consumers act and also cited the government Offices which are working in order to render justice to the consumers. 

Our job is to report the incident or fraud immediately as it takes place. Two students namely Vishakha Gandotra and Aditie Sharma spoke about the rights of consumer rights and its execution as theory and practice.

Prof/Dr Monika Sharma, worthy Principal of the College congratulated the NSS units of the college and dept. of Legal metrology and CAPD to organise such events which are of extreme importance for students.

She also highlighted the point that students are brand ambassadors of society and whatever we discuss here will be taken to households in the society. Members who were present to grace the occasion were Prof Sumita Rao, NSS PO, Prof. Sanjay Kumar, NSS PO and Prof. Yash Kumar member AKAM Committee and Kuldeep Singh for technical assistance.
