An awareness camp was today organized by Animal Husbandry Department Kishtwar here at Village Cherhar of panchayat Poochal B2 under the aegis of Good governance Week themed "Prashasan Gaon ki Aur" and in consonance with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO), Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen led the camp accompanied by Dr. Arif Shah, MVO along with the staff of the concerned centers. Around 70 local men and women animal breeders, besides PRIs, participated in the camp.
Medicines, Mineral mixtures and Dewormers were also distributed among the participating animal breeders free of cost. The public was also educated about the departmental schemes like KCC, Dairy Development schemes IDDS, IPDP, Cattle Insurance.
The public was encouraged to avail the benefits of these schemes to uplift their socio-economic status. The CAHO deliberated on the importance of the Swachhta Mission & its importance for the Livestock Production & Management.
He also urged the people to keep the cattle sheds clean and adopt the habit of cleanliness to meet the objectives of the nationwide Swachhta Mission. The local public thanked the CAHO for organizing the camp and hoped to get the benefits of the department in future as well.
