The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Wednesday inspected the ongoing work of Water Supply Scheme (WSS) Kunan Babgund executed by Jal Shakti Department. 

Giving details, Ex. Engineer Jal Shakti apprised the DC that the water supply Scheme (WSS) Babgund Konan is being executed at an amount of Rs 3.36 cr under NRDWP/JJM programme. 

Regarding the capacity of the scheme, the Ex. Engineer informed that the scheme has Plant Capacity of 1.0 lac gallon, SR capacity 45000 gallon, slow sand filtration plant capacity of 1.0 Lac gallon and SR capacity 50,000.

He informed that 80 percent work on the scheme is complete which will cater three villages of Kunan, Babagund and partly Madar. The DC on the occasion passed instructions to the executing agency to complete pending work as early as possible for smooth commissioning of WSS. 

Dr. Owais on the occasion directed concerned officers to ensure that all work is carried out as per the approved plan. While underlining the importance of JJM scheme for providing drinking water supply in adequate quantity of prescribed quality to every household on regular and long-term basis, Dr. Owais stressed upon officers to ensure implementation of JJM schemes as a top priority.

The DC was accompanied by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Syed Fida Hussain Rizvi and other senior officers.
