Actress Rakul Preet has been summoned by the ED department in a money laundering case related to the Tollywood drug case.
Rakul Preet, a Bollywood actress who is one of the most recognised actresses has been now surrounded with problems again. L: last year on 3 September 2022 she was summoned by the ED for a question-answer session. Although her statement has also been recorded by the ED. This is the legal case of trafficking the drugs and consumption of the drugs racked has been busted out by Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise department. The drug trafficking and consumption case has been under investigation by the anti-money laundering bureau for the past four years. The organisation supplied high-end drugs like LSD, MDMA, and others. The ED filed the current case in light of this. The ED discovered that the narcotics cartel's money was laundered through a number of different channels.

According to reports, this drug case made news in July 2017 when customs officers arrested musician Calvin Mascarenhas and two other people and recovered drugs worth Rs 30 lakh from them. The ED had earlier called in Tollywood stars Ravi Teja, Charmee Kaur, Navdeep, Mumaith Khan, Tanish, Nandu, Tarun, and Rana Daggubati of Baahubali fame.
If speaking about the ED then they have informed earlier that the “Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department filed 11 charge sheets and booked about 12 cases. Around eight people were charged at the time, primarily drug traffickers. The majority of them are amateur drug dealers. As witnesses, we have summoned exercise officers. Likewise, Tollywood celebs will be regarded as witnesses up until we have proof. The inquiry has used their names”.
