DIPR hosts Symposium cum cultural programme on Drugs de addiction at Udhampur

To generate awareness among the common masses about the ill effects of drugs, Department of Information & Public Relations Cultural Wing, Jammu, in collaboration with District Information Centre, Udhampur today organized a series of programmes in Udhampur.

 The programmes were conducted under the overall guidance of Cultural Officer, Jammu , Parul Khajuria. In the series of programmes, the department organised a theme based Cultural programme on Drugs De addiction  at GHSS Battal Ballian. 

The school Principal, Neeru Bala was the chief guest on the occasion. Students and artists of DIPR cultural unit Jammu presented a scintillating cultural programme featuring Dogri folk, patriotic and theme based songs.  

A symposium was also organised at GMS Kharorian on Drug de addiction in which Headmaster Vinay Gupta was the chief guest. Amit Kumar and Suresh Kumar senior Cultural assistants acted as the judges.

Kajal Devi bagged first position, while Sahil Kumar and Aarti Devi clinched 2nd and 3rd position respectively. A total of 7 students participated in the symposium. During the programme students of GMS Kharorian also presente Cultural items which were highly appreciated by one and all.

Addressing the students, the chief guests applauded the efforts of the information department for organizing the programme aimed at creating awareness among the students as well as the general public regarding ill effects of drugs. 

He urged the department to hold more such events in the future also. Among others present were Assistant Cultural Officer, Bal Krishan, Vice Principal Badrinath, Cultural cell incharge, Suman Lata, staff members.

Senior Artist Suresh Kumar and student Arti Devi conducted the proceedings at GHSS Battal Ballian and GMS, Kharorian, respectively.
