3,000 students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran, from both engineering and non-engineering streams, were conferred with degrees at the 16th annual convocation of the institution which included 64 meritorious students.  Students who topped their courses were honoured with gold (32), silver (18) and bronze medals (14), respectively.

The gold medallists included Hritik, Riya, Mahima, Sarthak, Aman, Suyansh, Shubham from B.Tech CSE, Dhruv, B.Tech IT, Himanshu, B.Tech ME, Deepanshu, B.Tech ECE, Samita, M.Tech CSE, Shabnam, M.Tech ECE, Vikash, M.Tech ME, Vanshika, B.Sc G&WD, Yashika, B.Sc NM, Vineet Kaur, MBA, Shreya Malviya, BCA, Shivangi MCA, Komalika B.Com., Pooja, M.Com, Urvashi, Harshita, BBA, Arshpreet, B.Pharmacy, Prabhjot Singh, M.Pharmaceutics, Diksha, M.Pharmacology, Baljit Kaur, B.Sc Biotechnology, Priya, M.Sc Biotechnology, Aditi Chauhan, BTTM, Isha, BHMCT-UGC, Himanshu, BHMCT-AICTE, Ankit, B.Sc H&HA and Simranjeet Kaur, B.Ed.

The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Guest Mr V.S. Ganesh, MD and CEO, Page Industries Ltd. who was accompanied by Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran, Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director CGC Landran and other dignitaries. Students from Engineering, Management, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Hotel Management and Education streams were awarded degrees during the convocation.  

In his remarks delivered at the convocation, Mr. Ganesh congratulated the graduates and wished them good luck for their future. Calling education a way of life he asked them to dream big and be open to learning at every stage of their career. Citing the concept of purple squirrel, used by industry specialists and recruiters to describe apt candidates for any job, he highlighted the importance of becoming an expert in one’s domain while gaining requisite understanding and knowledge about related fields. He also asked them to invest in self development and taking care to create a work-life balance in the process of building their careers. He concluded by encouraging the young graduates to always be hopeful and be grateful to their parents for their un-ending support and affection.

Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran lauded the students and their families on this significant milestone and extended their best wishes to them.
