Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Harbans Lal Sharma today convened a meeting of Revenue officers to revise stamp duty rates for the year 2023. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Gias-Ul-Haq; SDM  Gool, Tanveer-Ul-Majid, GM DIC, CEO, CMO, DFOs, Tehsildars, and other concerned officers.  

The Revenue Officials apprised the ADC that the stamp duty rates have been analysed and informed about the area-wise percentage of hike in the land rates in their respective areas of jurisdictions. They also apprised the ADC of the reasons for the hike in stamp duty rates. 

The meeting discussed the stamp duty rates of Irrigated and unirrigated land in rural areas and residential and commercial land in urban areas besides notified industrial land in the district. He also directed the concerned to ensure that the new rates shall be responsive to the generation of government revenue and place a balance and check in sale purchase deeds. 

Meanwhile, the ADC also reviewed the functioning of the Revenue department and directed officers to conduct regular visits to different areas in their respective jurisdictions to ensure the availability of essential commodities and developmental activities.
