Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam, on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Level Armed Forces Flag Day Committee, here today. The meeting was attended by ACR, Gias-Ul-Haq; GM, DIC, Ravender Anand; CMO, Dr. Kamal Zadoo; CEO, Devanand; DySP, Pardeep Singh; AD FCS&CA, Shoaib Latif; DTO AO and several other officers.
The Deputy Commissioner said that 7th December is observed as the Armed Forces Flag Day across the Nation to honour the soldiers, sailors, and airmen of India who valiantly safeguard the country's sovereignty.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that Armed Forces Flag Day functions will be organized at District, Sub-division and identified Tehsil and other places to express our gratitude and appreciation to the military personnel of India and to acknowledge those who made their supreme sacrifice for Mother India.
The DC said that the need of the hour was to increase the contribution through various means like distribution of token Flags. The Deputy Commissioner urged the people including employees to liberally contribute towards the noble cause of the welfare of Defence Personnel.
The DC directed officers especially to DTO to collect the contribution for Flag Day from all the employees of the district. The Deputy Commissioner also directed the ACR to identify suitable land to propose to the concerned authorities for the establishment of Zila Sainik Bhawan at Ramban.
