Block Diwas : Public Grievance Redressal Camps held across Sub Divisions of Baramulla

Continuing its efforts to get first hand appraisal of public issues and grievances, public grievance redressal camps were today organized across various sub-divisions of Baramulla. In Uri Sub division the main function of Block Diwas was organized in Paranpeelan block which marked the participation of different stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members, among other prominent citizens from Paranpeelan and its adjoining areas.

On the occasion, the Subdivisional Magistrate and other concerned stakeholders highlighted various grievances and demands meant for the overall welfare of the area. The demands put forth included availability of basic public services in a smooth and hassle free manner besides potable drinking water, uninterrupted electricity among other demands of vital public importance. 

The people also expressed their gratitude to the district administration for conducting the reach out programme in the area. Similar camps for redressal of public grievances were conducted in Pattan and Tangmarg Sub divisions where concerned SDMs gave a patient hearing to all the demands and resolved some of the important grievances/issues on the spot. 

It was also assured that all other remaining issues shall be taken with the concerned authorities. On spot directions were passed to some officers in this regard for timely completion of the public works.

Reiterating upon the administration commitment of streamlining public services delivery, it was added that several initiatives are being taken to redress core public issues and grievances on priority. On the occasion, various sports kits were distributed for encouraging youth to participate in sports at grass root level.

Further, it was given out that participation of youth in sports activities helps to build up their connection to their community. Highlighting the importance of sports, SDM Uri said that sports acts as a buffer against depression while also increasing self esteem. 

He asked for maximum participation of youth in sports activities. DDC member Boniyar, Mohammad Ismail Khan, BDC Chairman Paranpeelan, Sectoral Officers  were present in the outreach programme.
