Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister Anil Vij welcomed the doctors at his residence in Ambala today with applause and felicitated them. It was not a common as a health minister himself was greeting the doctors by clapping for their honour.
Actually, the team of neurosurgeons Dr. Anil Soft and Dr. Karthik Nandra had successfully operated for the first time on a patient's brain tumor at the Cancer Care Center of Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital.
On this achievement, the State Health Minister Sh. Anil Vij met the doctors at his residence this morning and himself clapped for their honour. Health Minister Anil Vij honored all the doctors and Dr. Rakesh Sahal, PMO, Civil Hospital by presenting them with flower bunches.
The Health Minister said that it is a big thing to have an operation in the Ambala Contonment Civil Hospital, earlier the operation of the spine was done and now it is a big thing to have an operation of the brain.
He said that no one can imagine that brain operation is being done in the civil hospital. He extended heartiest congratulations to the team of doctors for this and also called upon them to do better work in the health sector in the future.
*Patient of Dheen village, from test to operation of the patient in civil hospital*
Neurosurgeon and other doctors said that 45-year-old Jaipal, a resident of Dheen village, has been successfully operated for a tumor in his brain. He told that patient Jaipal used to have headache and was also having seizures.
The MRI of the patient was carried out, after which it was found that Jaipal had a tumor in his brain, and then the diagnosis of the tumor, some necessary tests were done in the Cantonment Civil Hospital itself. On Friday, the successful operation of the patient in about three hours.
*Two to three lakhs are spent in private hospital, free operation in cancer center: PMO*
PMO Dr. Rakesh Sahal said that if the operation of brain tumor is done in a private hospital, then two to three lakh rupees is a normal expenditure, but it was done free of cost in Atal Cancer Center.
He told that the successful operation of brain tumor which has been done in the center is being carried out in PGI Chandigarh, PGI Rohtak. Now major diseases are being treated in Ambala Cantonment as well and all this is possible only because of Health Minister Anil Vij.
Cancer Care Center was inaugurated on May 9
The Atal Cancer Care Center built at a cost of crores of rupees was inaugurated by BJP National President Sh. JP Nadda on May 9 this year. State-of-art facilities about cancer treatment to treatment of other diseases are available in this hospital, which is built at a cost of about Rs 72 crore.
Patients from not only Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and other states are reaching for treatment at the Cancer Care Hospital which was opened a few months ago.
