As part of Heritage week celebrations, District administration Reasi, in collaboration with tourism department, on Thursday organised a Heritage walk from Bhimgarh fort Reasi to Oli temple in Chapanoo village of the district.

Deputy Commissioner Reasi Babila Rakwal flagged off the walk from Bhimgarh fort in presence of district officers, school students and local residents.The students who were part of the walk visited Banda Bahadur Shrine in  Dera Baba, ancient Shiva temple in Chapanoo village and culminated  the walk at Oli temple.

Convener  INTACH Jammu Chapter, SM Sawhney explained to the students the socio religious significance of these places and conservation works carried out by INTACH of Oli temple which is en-route to the traditional route to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.

The DC Reasi batted for revival of the traditional route to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine via Oli temple with several other religious places en-route to attract the pilgrim tourists.The Deputy Commissioner also urged local women to create self help groups and promote bamboo art, local cuisines and milk products as the area has huge potential for dairy activities.

Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Anirudh Rai, BDOm Manoj Raina, sectoral officers PRIs and rural masses attended the event.
