The Department of Fisheries Anantnag under the Chairmanship of District Nodal Officer Anantnag PMFME (ODOP) Scheme today held day-long Awareness programme on centrally sponsored scheme “PM-Formalization of Micro food Processing Entrepreneur (PMFME) Scheme” at Shangus, here.

The Awareness programme was also attended by Area Marketing Officer Kulgam and his subordinate staff, the Officers/Officials of other line departments and a huge gathering of Shopkeepers and locals of the Shangus area.

At the outset, the District Nodal Officer PMFME (ODOP) scheme welcomed the participants and presented the overall scenario and prospects of the Micro Food Processing sector in the UT.He urged youth to set up their individual Micro Enterprises, and avail the benefit of credit linked subsidy available under the scheme. 

He requested the participants to get registered in the application submission process or visit the PM-FME Home Page.The Area Marketing Officer and Horticulture Development Officer also deliberated upon the various schemes for which they can get support under the PMFME scheme.

The representatives of various banks of Block Shangus assured the participants of any sort of assistance and cooperation under the guidelines of the bank. The District Nodal Officer said that interested youth who desire to avail the benefit under the scheme should contact the District Resource Person PMFME scheme for getting assistance in the application submission process, support in DPR preparation, getting a bank loan etc.

The Officers present in the camp laid  emphasis on Fish Processing, Bakery products, Canning of any food product, pickle making, vegetable and fruit processing etc.The workshop was also addressed by the local officials who besides encouraging the youth also appreciated the efforts of District Nodal Officer PMFME (ODOP) Scheme and requested for organizing more such camps in Block Shangus to create general awareness about the scheme so that youth can start their own enterprise under the scheme of PMFME.
