The Punjab Government has ordered to audit the utilization of grants given to 450 village Panchayats during last financial year 2013-14. Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Sikander Singh Maluka today said that the department has received some complaints in the implementation of MNREGA and it was decided to conduct the audit of Panchayats accounts of 450 villages which received more grants compared to other villages. He said that department has formed special teams which would start functioning from tomorrow and would submit their report with in a month. Besides that Mr. Maluka also said that department has cleared the file to award grants to 400 Panchayats elected unanimously in 2008 Panchayats Elections. He also said that these grants would be released soon.
