The department of Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran in association with IIT Delhi organised a workshop on Virtual Labs. The day-long event was attended by 400-plus students and faculty members. Conducted by resource personnel from IIT Delhi, the workshop helped engage the participating students & faculty in understanding and exploring the possibilities of remote learning & experimentation via Virtual Labs project. These labs would help them get remote access to simulation–based labs in science and engineering. They will also facilitate utilization of various tools for learning, including additional web resources, video lectures, animated demonstrations and self evaluation.
Mr Prateek Sharma, Senior Field Engineer, Virtual Labs, IIT Delhi, Mr Chandan Kumar, Field Engineer, Virtual Labs, IIT Delhi and Mr Chirag Dey, Field Engineer Virtual Labs, IIT Delhi helmed the sessions of the workshop. The resource personnel demonstrated working with new technologies such as Flutter and transform their pathbreaking ideas into practically implementable hybrid applications.
Virtual Labs project is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India under the aegis of ‘National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology’. It aims to foster the culture of community learning amongst all Higher Education Institutions with the overall objective of providing easily accessible and high quality education across the country. The project also seeks to give students an opportunity to perform simulated experiments in addition to reading and improving their understanding of the subject.
