The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Wednesday chaired a public outreach camp at Block Headquarter Bandipora in order to reach out to the public.The programme was attended by PRIs and the general public who raised a number of issues with the chair for their timely redressal.
Specific issues projected include shortage of electricity poles and transformers, paucity of staff in government offices and other issues. Addressing the gathering, the DC said that the Administration is committed for the holistic development of all the areas of the district and every sector is being pushed to achieve the desired results on ground.
He said the issue of pending payments, if any, shall be resolved with priority. Dr. Owais said that works worth around 50 crores have been approved in district Bandipora under DDC, BDC and PRI grants for development purposes.
He urged the public to take up issues of Jal Shakti through Pani samiti of their respective panchayats.He also highlighted services being provided by different departments through online mode and urged the public to come forward and avail the benefits of the same.
The DC directed officers to redress genuine public grievances on priority and stressed upon them to take immediate measures to solve the problems of the people highlighted during the public outreach programme. He passed on spot directions for redressal of various grievances.
Officers of different departments also raised awareness regarding different Govt schemes and programs being implemented in the district and motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the queries raised by the public on the occasion.
The programme was attended by ACD Bandipora, ACP Bandipora, ExEns, Tehsildar and other concerned officers from District Administration.
