As per Plan of Action and Calendar of Activities for the month of November- 2022, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sumbal and in collaboration with Education Department Bandipora today celebrated Children’s Day at New Greenland Sec. School Sumbal. 

Speaking at the event, Adv. Abid Hussain Malla, Resource Person highlighted the significance of this day. He said this day projects the rights of the children so that they are not being deprived of their privileges. He spoke on various legal aid schemes and the functioning of Legal Aid Clinics and PLVs. 

He urged the students to make their friends, families and villagers aware of these schemes. Various provisions of POCSO Act and fundamental rights and duties and law as a career were also highlighted by the resource person. 

Principal, New Greenland Secondary School, Sumbal in his address motivated the children and advised them to work hard to reach their goals. He said everybody expects from them to bring about radical transformations in the country and also in the world by devising means for development and prosperity for all human beings, by shunning any of the discrimination in the name of caste, colour and creed. 

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks expressed by Pr. New Greenland Sec. School Sumbal, to the participants.Teachers, PLVs, students and other society members attended the event.
