Jammu Kala Utsav competitions are being organised across the Jammu Division of J&K in collaboration with Project Director Samagra Shiksha J&K and Director School Education.In this connection, a two Day District Level competition was organised at Model Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch in which 112 students from different Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools of all eleven Educational Zones of Poonch District participated.
The competition was organised in Vocal Music Classical, Vocal Music Traditional, Dance Classical, Dance Traditional, Visual Arts 2D, Visual Arts 3D, Mono Acting, indigenous toy making and instrumental music.
Government Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian Poonch dominated the competition by bagging four first positions in Instrumental Music Female, 3-D Visual Arts both Male and Female category, and Indeginous Toys Making Male category.
Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian also bagged four second Positions in District level Kala Utsav competition in Classical Singing Female, Mono Acting both male and female and classical dance female. In Singing folk RUKSANA BANDAY of the school got third position.
The students who won first position are Rabia Mir, in traditional Instrumental Music, Sajad Ahmed, in Indigenous Toys making, Shajahan Yaseen, in Sculpture and Saima Banday in 3-D art. In Acting Female, Pakiza Banday and in Mono Acting Male Tabir Shah bagged second positions.
Two other students who got 2nd Position are Misbaah Banday in Classical Singing, Afsana Koser in classical dancing.The Students were prepared for the competition under the guidance of Saleem Jahangir Reshi, cultural cell incharge of Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian and Qamer un Nissa Bhatti.
Joint Director School Education Choudhary Mohammad Ashraf was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He appreciated the District Cultural Cell Poonch for successfully organising the event and also praised the students of Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian for a fine display of their artistic talents.
Fayaz Arzoo conducted the proceedings of the programme. Distinct Education Planning Officer Poonch Narinder Mohan Suri was guest of honour.District incharge culture cell Poonch Yugal Kishore Sharma presented the vote of thanks. These students will now participate in Divisional Level Kala Utsav competition 2022 at Jammu.
