National Education Day was celebrated with verve across all the educational institutions in Rajouri with the theme “Changing Course, Transforming Education.”The day was celebrated under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal.

The National Education Day is celebrated every year on November 11 as it marks the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first education minister after independence. He was awarded Bharat Ratna posthumously, India’s highest civilian honour in 1992.

A series of activities, including singing competition, drawing competition, essay competition etc were conducted in all the educational institutions to celebrate the day.Detailed light was thrown on the significance of the day and the students were made aware of the role of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in shaping the education system of India. 

He always emphasized on Girl Education and free compulsory education for all the children under the age of 14.The students demonstrate great enthusiasm and zeal, while taking part in different activities.They also paid homage to the stalwart and the first education minister of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
