The three day -9th District Level Badminton Championship for all age groups of boys and Girls, organised by District Badminton Association Udhampur, bega today here at Indoor Complex Subhash Stadium.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral was the chief guest at the inaugural session, while Assistant Commissioner Development, Ranjeet Kotwal was the guest of honour. District Information Officer Rajinder Kumar Digra and Colonel Ajay Sharma were the special guests.
Around 110 boys and girls are participating in the championship.Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest complimented the organizers for organising the championship. He said that holding sports events was a step forward to provide a platform to the budding players of the District and to encourage the sports culture for a healthy society.
He called upon the participants to take part in games for their physical and mental fitness.Naveen Sharma, Manager Sports Council Subash Stadium Udhampur, Vikram Singh Slathia, Councillor ward number-6 Sheikh Tanveer Ahmed, President District Kabaddi Association, Sanjeet Bhavouria and representatives of different associations were also present.
