DC Kupwara Doifode Sagar Dattatray chairs meeting of DLFRA Committee

Asks officers to work with diligence for smooth implementation of FRA

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today chaired a meeting of District Level Forest Rights Act (DLFRA) Committee at D.C Office, here to review the status of FRA claims.On the occasion, 5 numbers of community FRA claims were put for discussion before the committee which were received from the Sub Divisional Level FRA Committee. Out of which, 4 were sent to the Sub Divisional Level Committee for revivification and were rejected. 

The DC stressed upon the members to work with diligence as the onus lies upon them. He directed them to go through the procedures laid down under the Forest Rights Act for its smooth implementation on ground.

On the occasion, it was informed that the total number of cases discussed at FRC level is 2138 till date. Out of which, 1155 cases were rejected, while 983 cases were cleared. The cleared cases include 760 IRFC and 223 CFRC level cases.

It was also informed that the cases cleared by FRC shall be placed before the Sub Divisional Level Forest Committee headed by ADC Handwara, ACR Kupwara and SDM Lolab for examination and further recommendations. 

While the cases cleared by the Sub Divisional Level Forest Committee shall be placed before the District Level Committee for final decisions. ADC Handwara and SDM Lolab attended the meeting through virtual mode, besides ACR Kupwara, AC Panchayats, DFO Kamraj and BDC Chairperson Rajwar were present in the meeting.
