The Ambedkar Institute of Careers and Courses, Mohali, and institute opened by Punjab government to provide free coaching to Scheduled Caste and Backward Caste students in competitive exams clocked first major success with its student Ritu Gera of SAS Nagar, Mohali clearing the Civil Services Exam 2013-14 in her first attempt. Ritu belonging to Scheduled Caste category scored 1087 all India rank. Congratulating Ritu Gera, Punjab Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Minister S Gulzar  singh Ranike said that the success of Ritu in the top most competitive exams of India has realized the dream of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal Chief Minister Punjab who envisioned this institute to provide free coaching, free hostel facility and financial assistance to the economically weaker students belonging to SC, BC and Minority community for various courses like Civil Services, Punjab Civil Services, Bank P.O., PMET etc. He said that Chief Minister when informed about the rare success of student of Ambedkar Institute was thrilled to hear that and has felicitated Ritu Gera.
