The two-day South Zone Youth Festival-2022 of IKGPTU, Kapurthala, commenced at the Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran campus today. 300-plus students from 16 colleges of the South Zone districts consisting of SAS Nagar (Mohali), Roopnagar (Ropar), Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar Nawanshahr) are participating in the two-day event.
A total of 18 competitions under categories including dance, musical items, plays, fine arts, literary items and theatre are underway at the CGC campus as part of the IKGPTU youth fest. Putting up a vibrant showcase of talent and hardwork, students participating in the competitions, gave scintillating performances.
Among dignitaries present on the occasion were the Chief Guest, Mr Karnesh Sharma (IAS), Director, Punjab Tourism and Culture, Govt. of Punjab, Dr. Geet, Deputy Registrar, IKGPTU Mohali campus -I, Mr Sameer Sharma, Assistant Director, Culture, IKGPTU, Kapurthala campus among others.
Another key attraction at CGC Landran was the annual techno cultural fiesta Parivartan which is a flagship, national level event of the institution which was also inaugurated today. Revolving around the theme Innovate Create Celebrate, the two-day event will witness a host of competitions in technical, non-technical and cultural categories for students to participate in.
A career fair and tech-exhibition showcasing various innovations undertaken by CGC students were the highlights of this event. Acclaimed actor/singer Nimrat Khaira and Jordan Sandhu would be enthralling the audience with their live singing performances.
The chief guest Mr Sharma appreciated the events. He underlined the important role that they play in students’ overall personality development in addition to keeping them connected to their roots and get an enhanced understanding of Punjab’s rich culture, heritage and great legacy.
