Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday launched a number and email ID seeking suggestions from the people of Gujarat to name the party's Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections.
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other senior leadership of Gujarat urged people to send their suggestions to the party through SMS, WhatsApp, voice mail and e-mail to select the CM candidate from the party.
He said that AAP will announce the CM face on November 4 on the basis of suggestions given by the people of the state.The AAP released a number -6357000360 and e-mail - aapnocm@gmail. com, where people can send SMS, WhatsApp messages, and leave voice messages till 5 pm on November 3, Kejriwal said.
Earlier, addressing a massive rally in the Navsari here, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that AAP is receiving tremendous love and response from people of Gujarat during elections campaigns and it is a proof that the party will sweep the assembly elections with a staggering margin by breaking the bastion of BJP this time.
CM Mann said that ruling BJP had only looted the people of Gujarat and it has not done anything for their welfare in its 27-year of regime but AAP will bring reform into the health, education and government system by eliminating corruption just like party did in Delhi and Punjab.
Urging voters to ensure a landslide victory to teach a lesson to BJP, CM Mann asked voters to not refuse to money or gifts given to them by other political parties, but vote for the AAP. He said that he has been informed by local people that other parties are bribing people in exchange of votes.
People should take it, don't deny it, but vote for jhadu (broom, AAP's election symbol) this time to bring change in the state.Praising people especially young generation, CM Mann said that now the people are intelligent and they know what is better for their future.
They want the change and they won’t be befooled by installing flags on their houses because they are the generation that use twitter and social media, they will cast their vote wisely and will elect AAP in the state.He said that unlike other parties, which take decisions from Delhi, AAP is a true democratic party and implements all pro-people decisions only after seeking suggestions from the people.
He said that in Punjab his government has implemented industrial policy after receiving feedback from industrial, farmers policies implemented after asking farmers and even this time Punjab’s budget was presented after taking suggestions from common people. AAP is a party of people and it’s only agenda is to empower poor and give them their deserving rights.
Training guns at Congress, Mann said that Congress had looted the country for decades and later the same nefarious agendas were followed by BJP. They only filled their own coffers or nourished their family members but AAP will give chance to common people and now ministers will be from common family just like AAP did in Punjab.
Congress is now in ‘Coma’.He said that AAP is a party of the common people. Only the sons and daughters from humble backgrounds will go to the assembly and the Lok Sabha from AAP. It makes AAP different from other parties where only the sons and daughters of leaders become MLAs.
Like in Punjab where out of 92 out MLAs, 82 MLAs are first time and they hail from a common background, AAP will give chance to common people in Gujarat because people want the change and they will repeat the history of Punjab in this election.
He further said that even a youngster working at a mobile repair shop had defeated previous Congress CM Charanjit Singh Channi in Punjab. This will happen in Gujarat now and that’s why BJP is unnerved. The people of Gujarat have made up their mind to bring the AAP to power. They have suffered a lot for 27 years.
Listing the development works AAP did in just seven months in Punjab, CM Mann said that after coming to power, it started a movement against corruption and issued a helpline number. Over 200 people including powerful ministers lodged to prison on corruption charges.
Now corruption is completely eradicated from Punjab and the work of common man is done without any bribe. He said that AAP government has given appointment letters for more than 20 thousand government jobs. Now they have also implemented the Old Pension Scheme in Punjab.
This will greatly benefit the government employees. Punjab government is also providing MSP on 5 crops i.e. Wheat, Rice, Moong, Narma and Cotton in Punjab. They will add more crops in the upcoming days so that the farmers can get fair prices for their crops.He asked the people of Gujarat to give AAP a chance this time so that the record of Punjab and Delhi gets broken.
