As part of Jan Abhiyan launched by the Jammu and Kashmir government, Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur, today conducted an exhaustive tour of Udhampur district and reviewed progress on different sectors on deliverables at Kambal Danga.
District Development Council Chairperson, Udhampur, Lal Chand, Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna, Additional District Development Commissioner, Anu Behl, Block Development Council Chairman, Balwan Singh, DDC member Tikri, Ashu Sharma, DDC member Udhampur-1 Puran Chand and other district officers besides PRI members and general public of adjoining panchayats were present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner presented a brief account about the physical and financial progress achieved under 14th FC, PMAY, MGNREGA, Capex budget and other ongoing developmental works under several flagship schemes being executed by RDD department in the district.
While addressing the gathering, Commissioner Secretary congratulated the general public as well as PRIs members for their enthusiastic participation in the Jan Abhiyan programme. She highlighted the objective of the Abhiyan saying that this grand public campaign is aimed at reaching out to the people for redressal of their grievances and addressing developmental issues.
Mandeep Kaur, while elaborating on broad contours of ‘Back to Village’ programme phase IV, said that during the event a gazetted officer will visit to his assigned Panchayat to assess the development scenario, basic requirements of the Panchayat, implementation of CSS in panchayats, scope and potential of panchayats, issues highlighted in B2V2, B2V3 and status of their resolutions.
During the tour, Commissioner Secretary also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development works at different locations of Kambal Danga.Commissioner Secretary also interacted with the officers and had feedback regarding the status of department wise deliverables.
She asked them to ensure everyone shall select tangible deliverable to be achieved and 100 percent saturation of all schemes through various panchayat and village level camps during the conduct of Jan Abhiyan.
Mandeep Kaur stressed upon the officers to work with sincerity and dedication to make Jan Abhiyan programme a grand success by keeping main focus on issues of public importance.Later, Commissioner Secretary along with DDC Chairperson and DC inspected the stalls set up by various departments for disseminating information among the people about their respective schemes and programmes.
She interacted with the officers and reviewed progress on their schemes on ground.She also flagged off Swacchh Abhiyan awareness van at Garhi as part of the programme.Commissioner Secretary visited Panchayat Ghar Rehmbal lower-1 of block Udhampur where she inaugurated Rural Haat/SHG Centre and Hand pump.
She interacted with Self Help Group members and inspected the stall set up by NRLM.Meanwhile, Commissioner Secretary planted tree saplings in the panchayat ghar premises.
