Farmers from different areas of the district watched live streaming of the inaugural session of Kisan Samman Sammelan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Conference Hall of DC Office here today.Around one hundred farmers attended the event at district headquarters, besides numerous others at similar live streaming events organised at Zonal Headquarters and Panchayats of the district by the Department of Agriculture.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Babila Rakwal interacted with the farmers and stressed upon utilisation of PM KISAN installment for purchase of fertilisers, seeds and other agriculture implements.
The DDC Councilor Jij Bagli, Abdul Rashid was also present on the occasion. Chief Agriculture Officer, Harbans Singh, briefed the farmers about diversified farming, natural farming , crop rotation etc. He also informed that approximately 18 thousand farmers of the district would receive the 12th installment of PM KISAN.
