On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, a joint team headed by Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag along with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kokernag Development Authority (KDA) and Tehsildar Kokernag today led the demolition drive to demolish around half a dozen structures at Sagam, Hangalgund and Bindu areas of Kokernag.
The drive was conducted in collaboration with Revenue deptt, RDD, MC Kokernag, KDA and JK Police.During the drive, material was also seized at some points where Court Stay was being blatantly violated and the seized material was handed over to KDA.
As per an official, this is a continuous process and is more vigorously being carried out during the Demolition Pakhwada being held across the district.A stern message has been sent across to all violators that no illegal structure or activity shall be tolerated and strict action shall be taken against them.
More such drives have been planned to ensure that illegal constructions are deterred and people are advised to follow the proper procedure of applying for permission through proper channel, added the official.
