Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today sought the whole hearted support from Revenue Officers to transform the department there by changing the impression of Public from their heads and hearts regarding this major department.
The Revenue Minister was presiding over a meeting of Punjab Revenue Officers Association, which called on him. Mr. Majithia pointed out that the Revenue Department was a major contributor in the state revenue therefore the people of state fully deserve better facilities besides total transparency in the day to day working of the department. He said that he was always open to the suggestions aimed for the efficient functioning of the department and his main thrust was to check any foul play with NRIs or less educated persons. He asked the Revenue officials to work with more commitment and dedication to enhance the Revenue and assured them better infrastructure. The revenue officers brought in the notice of the Minister regarding depletion of strength of subordinate officials resultantly affecting the pace of disposal of work in the department. Mr. Majithia assured them to fill the vacant posts at the earliest.
The Minister informed that the State Government was contemplating to mark the NRIs in Revenue record so that the revenue officials are made more vigilant to register the sale or purchase of the properties of NRIs. He asked them to complete the remaining work of computerization of 17 Fard Kendras as till date, 146 such Fard Kendras have been made live out of total 163 such Kendras. He said that the now a farmer could be given Jamabandi of his own Khasra resultantly cutting the cost of computerized Fard.
Punjab Revenue Officers Association led by its President Ram Singh, District Revenue Officer Moga assured the Revenue Minister of total cooperation to improve the functioning of department and provision for better facilities to all the stake holders.
Mr. N.S.Kang Financial Commissioner Revenue and Mr. B.S.Sudan, Secretary Revenue was also present on the occasion.
