The NCC and NSS Units of Government Degree College Kishtwar, in collaboration with 11 RR Bhandharkoot today  conducted a joint cleanliness Drive near Chenab river, Bhandharkoot.Commanding Officer, 11 RR Bhandharkoot was the Chief Guest. 

In his impressive address he elaborated the need of cleanliness and hygiene in the society and surroundings.A total 172 participants took part in the cleanliness drive under the supervision of Commanding Officer 11RR, Lt. (Dr.) Madhu Bala; NSS, PO, Prof. Sonika Sen;  CTO, Akshey Sharma; PI staff CQMH, Mohammad Sharief and  Hawaldar, Ashraf Ali.

The NCC cadets and NSS volunteers along with army personnel actively participated in the cleanliness drive and collected the garbage on both banks of river Chenab and disposed of it in the Dustbin.Cleanliness Slogans were also raised to encourage the students such as 'Safai ko lana hai Gandgi ko hatana hai'.

The main purpose was to spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness of the water bodies and proper dumping of plastic material.The cleanliness drive was organised under Puneet Sagar Abhiyan. The NSS Unit GDC Kishtwar is going to organise several other activities in the month of October to celebrate the Clean India Campaign 2.0.
