As part of ongoing Navratra Festival, an impressive Shobha Yatra cum Cultural Procession was taken out here today at Katra. Chief Engineer JPDCL, Sandeep Seth flagged off the  Shoba Yatra  as part of the traditional Chaitra Navaratri celebrations.

A large number of devotees enthusiastically participated in the flagging off ceremony to invoke the blessings of  Mata Vaishno Devi,  besides a substantial number of devotees were present in the group.Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Seth said that such events provide a common platform to the people for interacting with each other and sharing their culture and ideas to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and communal harmony.

Later, the chief Engineer also witnessed the "All India Devotional Songs Competition"- one of the major events of the festival. He also attended Mata Ki Kahani play at Railway Road Katra.Sandeep Seth congratulated the organisers for encouraging the budding Singers by providing them a platform to exhibit their talent.

It is pertinent to mention that the Navratra Festival is being organised by the Tourism Department, J&K, in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra and District Administration Reasi. The 9 day Festival has many cultural and devotional elements like daily Prabhat Pheri in the morning, Shobha Yatra every evening, Laser show on Mata ki Kahani, Natrang theatre group play on Mata Ki Kahani, All India Devotional Song Competition at Yog Ashram Katra, Bhagwat Katha at Raghunath Temple Katra, daily Ramleela and Cultural programmes at Higher Secondary school Katra.

On this occasion, Chairman MC Katra Vimal Indu, AD Tourism Ambika Bali and other district officers were also present.
