Continuing its efforts to get the first hand appraisal of public issues and grievances, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraaf today presided over a day-long  public grievance redressel camp organised under weekly Block Diwas at Noorkah Block of Uri.

The Block Diwas marked the participation of different stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members, among other prominent citizens from Noorkah and its adjoining areas.On the occasion, the concerned stakeholders highlighted various grievances and demands meant for the overall welfare of the area. 

The demands raised include availability of basic public services in a smooth and hassle free manner viz. potable drinking water, uninterrupted electricity among other demands of vital public importance.The ADDC gave a patient hearing of all the demands and onspot resolved some of the important grievances/issues. 

He also assured that all other remaining issues shall be taken with the concerned authorities and issued on spot directions to some officers in this regard.Reiterating upon the Administration's commitment of streamlining public services delivery, ADDC said that several initiatives are being taken to redress core public issues and grievances on priority.

On the occasion, 11 sports kits containing sports items of different games were distributed for encouraging youth to participate in sports at grass roots level. ADDC further briefed that participation of youth in sports activities helps to build up their connect to their community.

Highlighting the importance of sports, ADDC said that sports acts as a buffer against depression while also increasing self esteem. He asked  for maximum participation of youth in sports activities.DDC member Boniyar, Mohammad Ismail Khan, BDC Chairman Noorkhah.

Raja Gh Mohammad, ACD Bla Yar Ali Khan, ACP Bla Gulzar Ahmad Khan and other officers were present in the outreach programme.
