The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid today chaired a mega Block Diwas at Panchayat Halqa Khalisa Kawoosa in Block Narbal.Among others, Chairman BDC Narbal, SDM Beerwah, Engineers from various engineering wings, CHO, CAHO, DSHO, Tehsildar, BMO, BDO and other district officers and officials attended the programme.
On the occasion, the DC said that a road macadamisation project worth Rs 7. 5 crore has been approved for Kawoosa area. He said the project includes development of a robust drainage network for the area.The DC urged locals to ensure their support in removing roadside encroachments for hassle-free work execution on the same project.
He also stressed on speedy work completion on Filtration Plant Mazhama and other approved Water Supply Schemes to provide adequate water supply to the area.On the occasion, PRIs and respected locals from villages Kawoosa, Narbal, Gagerpora, Nowpora and other adjacent villages apprised the DC about their needs and requirements.
After giving patient hearing to the public, the DC said special focus shall be given on ensuring better drinking water facility to the area.He said various road projects, WSS, improvement works in power, health and education sectors are in progress and in the pipeline to ensure holistic development of the area.
On the occasion, JE PDD informed locals about the one-time PDD amnesty scheme and urged consumers to avail benefits under it.He also assured improvement work in HT and LT lines and installation of new poles in the area.
Asserting on cleanliness and sanitation, the DC urged the PRIs and locals to ensure complete ban on single use plastic items and proper garbage disposal.
