Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar today inaugurated the newly constructed building of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Nerwa located at Balsan in Chaupal sub-division of Shimla district.  This is the first visit to Nerwa by any Governor in Himachal Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that education was being widely disseminated in the State through Himachal Pradesh Shiksha Samiti.  He said that the main objective of education should be to produce cultured and well mannered citizens as it was only because of these values that the country remains safe.  

Keeping this objective in mind, the Shiksha Smiti was moving forward, he added.  He said that the country progresses only by preserving its heritage.  Shri Arlekar said that National Education Policy 2020 was being implemented to create a conducive environment for education in the country.  

Appreciating the efforts of Himachal Shiksha Smiti, he said that people should cooperate with the Smiti and added that maximum expansion of these educational institutions should be done. The governor also appreciated the efforts of local resident Mian Shawan Singh who has donated about 2 bighas of land for this school.

Prant Adhyaksh, Himachal Shiksha Smiti Mohan Keshta, honored and welcomed the Governor on the occasion.  He said that this school was running in a rented building for 21 years and now this instituion was going to have its own building.

He expressed his gratitude to all the people who had contributed for the construction of the school building.  He detailed about the historical background of Vidya Mandir Schools and said that these schools were run and maintained by the society itself.

A social worker Captain Sanjay Parashar also spoke on the occasion. He has donated an amount of Rs 11 lakh for the construction of the school.Local MLA Balbir Verma, Organizing Secretary of Shiksha Smiti, Gyan and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
