The leopard died while colliding with the car, which was travelling at high speed. He was crossing the road from Seoni to Nagpur National Highway No. 44 at 12.30 pm on Thursday in the area adjoining the Khavasa buffer and Khavasa general forest range of Pench Tiger Reserve under development block Kurai.
The speedy car struck the leopard while it was crossing the road. The car driver hit him unknowingly and unintentionally. A leopard has lost his life on the spot. After receiving the information, the first personnel arrived on the spot immediately, and they sent the body of the leopard for post mortem.
An adult leopard was hit by an unidentified vehicle while crossing the road in front of the Metewani checkpoint petrol pump adjoining Pipariya village on Khawasa road.

As soon as the information was received, the forest staff, including the Deputy Director of Pench Tiger Reserve, Rajnish Singh, reached the spot. The team has left for the post-mortem of the dead leopard's body.
It is worth noting that on the night of 27-28 August last year, another leopard was killed due to an unidentified vehicle collision on the highway road in front of Banjari Rest House in Dhuma forest range on Seoni-Jabalpur road.

Not only this, in April, a leopard fell to death when it was climbing a 25-feet tall tree with the prey of a monkey in the Pench Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh's Seoni district.
The dead bodies of the adult female leopard and the langoor were seen in the Gandatola area of the Kurai Range within the Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR) on Monday morning. Ribs and the backbone of the cat were found broken and other parts of the body were found unimpaired.
