Shanti Yatra receives grand welcome across Ramban

After according grand reception to Shanti Yatra in Ramban, the  district Administration today handed over the   the ‘Shanti Chinh’ symbol of love, peace and non-violence to Doda Administration at  9th Km on Batote Doda National Highway , the exit point of District Ramban. 

It was handed over to the students and officers of the Education Department of District Doda by the officers and students of district Ramban for its further  relay in District Doda and then to Kishtwar.

As per schedule, it will return to teacher Bhawan Gandhinagar Jammu on 2nd October after covering a distance of 1000 Km covering all the districts of Jammu division As a part of commemoration of 153rd Gandhi Jayanti, the Shanti Yatra, an Initiative of Directorate of School Education Jammu, was flagged off   from Teachers Bhawan, Jammu by the Advisor to the  LG of  J&K ,   Rajive Bhatanagar and after passing through different Districts  reached district Ramban on September 19.

 At the reception of Santi Yatra, the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam in coordination with the Chief Education Officer Ramban, Dev Anand also organized a colourful function in which students and local artists presented various attractive and informative cultural items. 

The Deputy Commissioner Ramban addressed the students and emphasized on inculcation of the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi ji.The objective of this relay Yatra is to spread the message of peace and brotherhood among the students and society to pay homage to the father of the nation on his 153rd anniversary, the DC added.   

In the district the Yatra was received by the CEO along with a number of officers and officials of the Education Department and a large number of students at Nashri Tunnel on Monday from District Udhampur.A warm and colourful reception of Shanti Epitome was witnessed with banners, Flags, play cards, songs and slogans by the students and officials at the reception point.
