The District Administration Rajouri has launched a coordinated movement to sensitise masses about the deleterious effects of drug abuse under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. A number of activities are being organised in the district on a daily basis.

In continuation of the campaign, Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Parihar today flagged off a Bike Rally here from Dak Bunglow to spread the awareness among the public regarding the menace of Drug addiction and urgent need to stop drug abuse.

The Bike Rally was organised by the District Administration in collaboration with the Excise Department. About 100 bikers from across the district participated in the rally and traversed through different areas of the town holding placards with the messages about the hazards of drug abuse and how it affects the human health and the society as a whole. 

The rally passed through main thoroughfares and culminated back at Dak Banglow Rajouri.While interacting with the Bikers and civil society members gathered to witness the Flag off event, the ADDC said that the purpose of the rally was to highlight the ill effects of drug abuse and to educate the youth that this habit would deviate them from their main purpose by sapping their energy and strength.

 The ADDC further said that only collective effortsw would help to eliminate the drug menace which has assumed alarming proportions.  Additional Superintendent of Police, Vivek Shekhar; District Social Welfare Officer Rajouri, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat; Excise and Taxation Officer Rajouri- Poonch Range, Narinder Singh were present during the flag off event.
