Department of Hindi, Government Degree College for Women, Udhampur organised an extension Lecture on “Hindi Diwas” here today on the College Campus.The Programme was presided over by the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma.Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, Head of the Department (Hindi), delivered the greeting speech.
He not only emphasised the major problems that Hindi-speaking people have encountered over the past five decades, but also the lack of enthusiasm Hindi-speaking parents have showed in teaching their children the language.He also highlighted Hindi's difficulties and the inferiority complex that many people get when speaking Hindi with others.
Speaking at the event, the college's Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, stated that students are the foundation of the country and that it is their highest responsibility for them to support their mother language. By sharing personal experiences from her life, she informed the students about the advantages of fostering our mother tongue.
She assured the teachers and students her support and assistance in advancing and promoting the Language.Sunil Kumar Thakur encouraged the staff and students, while presenting the formal vote of thanks, by emphasising the crucial efforts needed for the promotion of the language through cinema, literature, trade, and commerce, among other mediums.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Rumaisa.Others present on the occasion included Prof. Seema Sharma (Head Department, Music), Assistant professor Dr. Sanjay, and various other staff members and students.
