Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting of District Level Task Force Committees on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme to discuss the Action plan for year 2022-23. Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohita Sharma; Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Kasturi Lal; Chief Education Officer, Dev Anand; Dy. District Election Officer, Lal Chand; District Social Welfare Officer, Rahul Gupta; District Health Officer, Ravinder Kumar and Tehsildars Ramban Rafiq Ahmed and Tehsildar Rajgarh Raman Kumar attended the meeting .
The meeting Commissioner discussed proposals of different departments for inclusion of the Action Plan pertaining, like re-enrollment of secondary level dropout girls, equipping teachers to impart education in a gender sensitive manner, generating awareness among young and adolescent boys about gender equality, imparting self-defence training to Girls as proposed by the Education Department.
Similarly, the Health Department proposed activities like conduct of awareness campaigns and sensitization of all the stakeholders, including public, about PC&PNDT Act, MTP Act and Convergence for nutrition and Health Education including menstruation hygiene behavior.
The Youth Service and Sports Sector proposed activities like awareness and community mobilization through NSS and NYKS volunteers for the awareness regarding BBBP, besides using the BBBP logo for the schemes run by the department of youth Affairs, etc. It was decided in the meeting that special focus shall be zeroed on 100% birth registration of each newly born child.
The DSWO also briefed the meeting about the activities proposed under other sectors including Department of Rural Development and Panchyati Raj, Skill Development, Home, Labour and Employment etc.The SSP suggested various measures for effectively implementing the BBBP Action Plan in the district for achieving the goal of flagship programme in letter and spirit.The DC asked all the stakeholder departments to work in coordination with each other to finalize and implement the Action Plan under BBBP for the district Ramban.
