The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today held a meeting on Swachta Diwas and Indian Swachta league. The DC directed officers from Municipalities, Education and RDD regarding the Swachta Diwas scheduled to be held from 15th of this Month and will be a 15 day long campaign.
Various activities to be undertaken during the month include cleanliness drives, waste collection, cleanliness in public institutions, painting competitions, organizing rallies etc were discussed during the meeting.The participants were also briefed regarding the Indian Swachta League which is the first inter-city competition led by youth towards building garbage free cities.
The activities will be undertaken on Swachta Divas on 17th of September.The officials were directed to spread the word and ensure that youth from the district take part in the competition.The meeting was attended by ADDC, ACR, ACD, Principals of various GDCs, BDOs, EOs of MCs, among others.
