Punjabi singer G Khan has recently landed in controversy. It has been reported that G Khan has crooned ‘vulgar and indecent’ songs during the celebration of Ganpati Utsav on a stage at Janakpuri in the city. Following the virality of a song video, many Hindu activists filed separate complaints with police Division No. 2 alleging that it was an attempt to offend religious sensitivities.
Though the singer has taken to his social media and apologised for the same. But still, some people are raising questions about his mistake. In an apologising video, G Khan says that after the demand of the audience, he sang the song. His motive was not to hurt the religious sentiments of people, so he folded his hands to the public and asked for forgiveness.
After this, Punjabi singer Ninja also shared a video on his IG story. He demands forgiveness and supports the blamed artist G Khan. In the video, Ninja extends his supporting hands and says that G Khan is like a brother to us and he mistakenly performed those songs on the pious stage. He further added that G Khan is not only a great artist but an amazing human being too. G Khan has always supported other artists and never wished to hurt anyone’s emotions, so please forgive him. If today he made some mistake, then don’t give him such a harsh punishment. Ninja further pleaded with his followers and asked for G Khan’s mercy.
Meanwhile, if reports and viral videos are to be believed, then Shiv Sena Punjab vice-president Amit Arora claimed in a written complaint to division number 2 police station that on September 9, when G Khan was invited to perform at a local Ganesh Visarjan programme in Janakpuri, he sang songs like ‘Choli ke peeche kya hai’ and ‘Peg motey motey whiskey wale,’ which were inappropriate for the religious event.
