Week Long celebration of Teachers’ Day culminates in Kathua

The weeklong celebration of Teachers’ Day ended today in district Kathua  witnessing a variety of activities ranging from cultural programs featuring group songs, dance performances, debates/symposium, Rangoli making, poster making, Sports events held with spirited participation of educational institutions.

Pertinently, a detailed calendar was launched for the Teachers’ Day from 5th of September to 10th of September-2022  for the Educational Institutions of the district to mark the birth anniversary of India’s First Vice President & 2nd President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, a great Scholar, Philosopher, Bharat Ratna awardee, a highly-respected teacher and a prolific statesman.

Students from different colleges and schools exhibited their talent and devotion towards Teachers through speeches, recitation of poems, dance and musical performances etc. Inspirational and motivational movies were also screened in the Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools to highlight the contribution of the teachers.

Chief Education Officer Kathua said, " In previous two years of Covid pandemic the Teachers' Day celebrations were given a miss with only virtual wishes and greetings, but with the resumption of physical classes and students back in schools and colleges, the celebratory spirit to mark the day with great pomp and show is back in Kathua".

Deputy Commissioner, Kathua extended his greetings to the teaching fraternity and appreciated their contribution towards Nation building and  for their pivotal role in nurturing young minds. He applauded the efforts of teachers of Schools and Colleges for being instrumental in realizing goals of thousands of students.
