Yesterday, on September 11, under the leadership of State Vice President Dr. Anirudh Gupta, a special meeting of the Chandigarh Punjab Union of Journalists (CPUJ) was conducted at the DCM HO complex. On a special basis, Vinod Kohli, a member of the Press Council of India, as well as Naveen Sharma, Mansa Ram and Davinder Singh Chauhan of CPUJ, participated in the meeting.
Vinod Kohli praised the work of the Ferozepur CPUJ Unit and said that Dr. Anirudh Gupta, District President, CPUJ, is in charge of doing really excellent work. Not only this, he also gave him a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ for his tenacious efforts to bring attention to social issues that affect the general public.
Moreover, adding more information about the event, Kohli stated that in addition to bringing the government's attention to the pressing issues facing field journalists, the Press Council of India would also face challenges. He asserted that journalists labour diligently and devotedly to present the truth to the public.
Also, Ferozepur would soon host a seminar for prominent journalists from around the nation, as announced by Dr. Anirudh Gupta, State Vice President and District President of the CPUJ. He stated that in addition to providing journalists with pensions and appropriate pay, welfare measures will also be adopted.
He stated that occasionally, PCI would also be consulted for journalistic issues.Now, wrapping up the information and conference, Secretary Harish Monga thanked everyone and promised that the District Unit of CPUJ would continue its work for the benefit of journalists in the future.
