Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann, the district library located in Sangrur city is being converted into a digital library as part of the series of meaningful initiatives to connect the young generation with book culture, for which the work will start within a month.

This was expressed by MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj today while visiting the district library along with SDM Navreet Kaur Sekhon and other administrative officials.  The MLA said that an amount of 75 lakh rupees has been approved by the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann for the renovation of this library.

She said that the work of converting this library into a digital library will be completed within a few months.  The MLA said that a few days ago she visited this library and interacted with the students studying here and in view of the demand of the students, she assured that soon appropriate steps will be taken for the renovation of this library.

Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that with the creation of a digital library, students will be able to prepare for competitive exams in a better and more constructive environment while getting modern facilities.  She said that the ancient rare books, reference magazines and journals in the library will also be kept safely.

MLA Bharaj while addressing the students assured that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann is committed to brighten the future of children and youth.

She said that during the renovation works of the library, as an alternative arrangement, the library will be shifted to the hall of Improvement Trust Sangrur located on Sunam Road so that there is no hindrance in the education of the students.
