A day-long training programme on Special Summary Revision and SVEEP activities for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Shopian was held today at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat, here.The training session was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, who is also the District Election Officer.
ERO/SDM Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmad and Dy.DEO Shopian were also present in the training sessions.The training was attended by ENT Bashir Ahmad, Master Trainers, officials of Election Department and BLOs of Shopian District.
Speaking on the occasion, the DEO asked BLOs to work with dedication and enthusiasm to ensure effective registration of new voters besides take maximum benefit of training sessions and get acquainted with requisite knowledge of election processes for better outcomes.
Dy.DEO on the occasion explained the process of prescribed forms under ongoing Special Summary Revision. He said the objective of the programme was to sensitize the BLOs regarding their role in the upcoming special summary revision being undertaken from 15th of September 2022 to 25 October in Jammu and Kashmir.
The master trainers briefed the participants regarding updation of the data via Form 6, 6A, 6B, Form 7 and Form 8.It was informed on the occasion that Form 6 is exclusively meant for registration of new electors, Form 6A for inclusion of name in electoral roll by an overseas elector, Form 6B for capturing Aadhaar no. by existing electors.
Similarly Form-7 is meant for objection to proposed inclusion/ deletion of name in existing electoral roll with a slight modifications that a provision of attaching death certificate has been incorporated and Form 8 for correction in electoral roll, shifting of residence (within or outside constituency), replacement of EPIC and marking of a person with disability.
They also explained the role of BLOs in checking the prerequisites before processing the prescribed forms.It was stressed upon BLOs to undertake the task of spreading awareness along with the current Special Summary Revision exercise.
An interactive session was also held to clear the doubts regarding enrollment process and other relevant queries.
