Weekly Block Diwas : DDC Rajouri presides over public outreach camp at Nowshera

Asks for time bound, quality redressal of public concerns

As part of weekly Block Diwas, the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a public grievances redressal camp, here at Nowshera.Among the others present during the event were ADDC, Pawan Kumar; President MC Nowshera, Narinder Kumar; BDC Nowshera, Bodh Raj; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ADC Nowshera, Kartar Singh; PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid and other district and sectoral officers.

At the outset, the public and their representatives projected scores of issues and demands of their areas seeking macadamization of roads, better health services etc.Specific issues highlighted during the event were early completion of PHC at Panchayat Bhawani-B, improving internet connectivity in border areas, inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G, scarcity of water, sanctioning of a veterinary centre at Panchayat Hanjana etc.

Other issues projected included sanctioning of a JK Bank Branch at Kalsian, construction of additional border bunkers at Panchayat Bhawani-A, additional transformers, renovation of GMS Chowki building, fixation of milk rates, meeting of shortage of staff at HSS Nowshera and renovation of internal roads in the town.

Some more issues were sanctioning of additional Anganwadi centres, up-gradation of GHS Sair Makri, erection of mobile tower at Sair Makri, Girls hostel to be constructed at GDC Nowshera; work on JJM Projects to be expedited, repair and renovation of roads, augmentation of health infrastructure etc.

The Officers of different departments also highlighted a number of schemes being implemented in the district and motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the queries raised by the public during the event.

The ADDC, Pawan Kumar Parihar, while speaking on the occasion, said that scores of initiatives are being taken by the District Administration for the overall development of the district and people's cooperation is imperative in this regard.

Underlining the importance of cleanliness and sanitation, he urged the public and PRIs to keep their surroundings neat and clean. He also highlighted the effects of single use plastic on health and environment and appealed to the public to shun its use and go for eco-friendly alternatives to it.

The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands projected on the occasion and assured them of quality and timely redressal of all the genuine concerns.Addressing the event, the DDC said that the District Administration is striving hard to take the district towards new heights of development by utilizing its potential in different sectors and all possible measures are being taken to provide government services at the doorsteps of the general public.

Saying that the District Administration is committed to ensure transparency and accountability in its functioning, he also said concrete measures are being taken to make Govt services more transparent and easily accessible to the public.

He also urged the PRIs to play a crucial role in the development of their areas and ensure that all the developmental works being executed in their respective jurisdictions are completed within the set times while adhering to quality parameters.

DDC urged the unemployed youth to avail the benefits under different self employment schemes.While highlighting varied online services of different departments, he said that the government has launched various online services to ease the public delivery system and urged the public to avail themselves of the benefits of the same.

While replying to the issue of scarcity of water, he said that 14 Jal Jeevan Mission schemes worth Rs 110 crore have been sanctioned for block and all households of the district shall be covered under tapped water connection with the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.

Regarding maintenance of internal roads of town, the DDC asked the concerned officers to take effective measures in this regard.While taking note of the allotment of tenders, he asked the PRIs and officers to ensure that the tenders of all the works are allotted at the earliest so that the developmental works are executed and completed on ground in time.

Discussing the measures being taken for mitigating lumpy Skin Disease, he said that effective measures are being taken to mitigate the Disease in the district and sought the active cooperation of the general public in this regard.He also issued on the spot directions to the concerned officers to take cognizance of the issues pertaining to their departments.

Later, the DDC also visited an Anganwadi centre near PWD Dakbunglow Nowshera where he interacted with the children and staff and asked the staff to ensure that best services are provided to the children in the Anganwadi centre. He also visited a Poshan Vatika (Vegetable garden) in the Anganwadi centre.
